Sr. Piping Designer

Location: Houston, Texas (Partial Remote)

Role Overview

This position is for a lead piping designer responsible for supporting project execution within the EPC industry. The role involves overseeing EPC design activities, mentoring other designers, and checking deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy. This is an opportunity to engage in challenging design projects with a focus on leadership and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Department Manager with the execution of all design and drafting activities, including staff management and monitoring schedules and budgets.
• Direct and manage the activities of drafters, designers, and engineers in the planning, scheduling, and execution of projects.
• Manage the completion of deliverables, including construction drawings, design studies, and bills of materials.
• Schedule work assignments while providing guidance, training, and assistance to designers and drafters.
• Coordinate with client and construction personnel to ensure job requirements are addressed and implemented.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction estimates.
• Take responsibility for the final approval of drawings to ensure conformity with applicable codes and standards.
• Maintain engineering document indices and drafting progress reports.

Required Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or an Associate's Degree with adequate drafting courses. BS is nice to have.

Experience: A minimum of 12 years of piping design experience within the energy, chemicals, refinery, LNG, or power generation industry. Piping lead and checking experience is required. Candidates should have a background in EPC or heavy industrial environments.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with CADWorx, Bluebeam, and Navisworks preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
• A Certificate in Design/Drafting is preferred.
• AVEVA E3D Experience
• Reinforced Concrete Design Experience and Steel

Work Environment

Work will be conducted in a general office environment. Occasional work in an industrial location may be required where noise levels can be moderate to high. Job sites may contain light to heavy equipment, materials, and tools.
