Job Title Psychologist - Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health, Clinical Psychologist (Open Rank/Clinical-Track Faculty) Position Overview At OSUWMC, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care across the lifespan. The mission of the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health is to improve, advance, and innovate behavioral healthcare and foster resilience in our patients and our communities. Our emphasis is on delivery and development of empirically supported treatments and approaches. The area of specialization for these positions is open; we are particularly interested in candidates with clinical and/or research expertise in women’s behavioral health, OCD/anxiety disorders, and ADHD assessment and treatment. We also welcome candidates with interests that align with our programs of distinction in psychosis, depression recovery, addiction, gero/neuropsychology, and suicide/trauma. The successful candidate will work within our interdisciplinary clinics in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health and OSUWMC, directing and/or providing care in a manner consistent with the privileges granted by the governing body of University Hospitals and as approved by the University Board of Trustees. Duties and Responsibilities Faculty responsibilities are consistent with our tripartite mission – patient care, education, and clinical research. The psychologist will provide clinical evaluation and assessment, as well as individual and/or group psychotherapy. This requires thorough knowledge of the DSM‑5 and mental health diagnoses within the ICD‑10. The selected individuals will have ample opportunities to contribute to training, research, and other scholarly pursuits. Other duties include, but are not limited to, representing the program or department by participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional meetings and community speaking engagements. The psychologist is expected to practice within the established Medical Center and standards of practice (policies, procedures, protocols), and adhere to key results areas of the Medical Center. Requirements Doctoral Degree in Psychology. Licensed or license‑eligible in the state of Ohio. Applicants must be from an APA‑ or CPA‑accredited clinical or counseling psychology doctoral program (with an accredited clinical internship) and be licensed in Ohio by the time of appointment. Preference will be given to candidates with previous training or experience in an academic medical center and those with at least one year of relevant post‑doctoral experience. The psychologist must be competent in technical clinical skills and possess the cognitive and interpersonal skills required to participate in our academic community and to serve patients receiving the above‑mentioned services. How to Apply To be considered, please submit your application electronically via Workday. Application materials must include cover letter and Curriculum Vitae. Questions can be directed to Kristen Carpenter, PhD (View email address on click.appcast.io), Chief Psychologist and Director of Ambulatory Services. Three letters of reference can be sent directly to Dr. Carpenter. Applications will be reviewed as they are received. Anticipated start date is August 1, 2026, but can be adjusted to meet the candidate’s needs.
