Sheet Metal Crew MemberThis position is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day production needs of the company by ensuring quality workmanship installing architectural cladding systems, sheet metal, metal wall panels, aluminum composite material (ACM) panels, and related specialty systems. If you're looking for a place to grow, thrive, and make a real impact, JR & Co is the place for you.Essential Functions:Help set-up, maintain, and clean-up project sites to ensure safe work practices and compliance with OSHA at all timesInstall a variety of wall panel systems, parapet coping & cut miters, standing seam roof panels, custom sheet metal flashing & trim, Fascia, panel sills, profile closures, and window flashingsProperly manage all assigned tools, equipment, and materialComplete all of assigned daily tasks and dutiesReport any safety concerns immediately, stopping work if necessary for safetyReport to job on-time, ready to work, asking for clarification and assistance as neededRequired Skills and Abilities:Experience with standing seams, metal tiles, and other sheet metal types.Must be able to obtain security clearance on military job sitesDemonstrated time-management and organizational skillsReliable – fulfilling all shifts and all required tasksAbility to follow directions and work hardDetail-orientedEmbody and model company values of Serving Others, Passion for Results, Accountability, Integrity, Respect, Consistency and ExcellenceMust demonstrate respect to customers, supervisors, and team members, communicating all concerns in a professional manner and adhere to standards of conduct and company policies at all timesEducation and Experience:1-2 years of Sheet Metal experience (required)1-2 years experience in construction (preferred)OSHA 10 hour training (or ability to obtain)Work Environment/Physical Requirements:Pass initial drug test/background check and participate in random drug test programWilling to travelAbility to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)Frequently lift and carry 75lbs or greaterFrequent Lifting, bending, kneeling, walkingOutdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day)Overtime and weekend workBenefits:Health, dental vision, life insurancePaid time off401(k) plus company matchFringe Benefit sub-plan (where applicable)Paid Parental LeaveLocation/Schedule:In Person Des Moines, Iowa 50309(with frequent travel)Day Shift: Mon-Fri (occasional weekend work as business needs require)
