Senior Recruiter - Engineered Systems

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Recruiter - Engineered Systems based in the United States. This is a high-impact recruiting role supporting complex, mission-critical programs across defense, intelligence, construction, engineering, systems integration, and related technical environments. You will own full-cycle recruiting while developing targeted strategies for both cleared and uncleared positions. The role combines strategic workforce planning, technical talent sourcing, candidate assessment, and close partnership with program and engineering leaders. You will build sustainable pipelines for scarce and specialized talent while also responding to fast-moving staffing and surge requirements. Success requires the ability to understand technical and contract-specific requirements and translate them into effective recruiting approaches. You will operate in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment where recruiting directly supports organizational growth and program delivery. The position is remote, with candidates in Northern Virginia, Washington, D. C. , or Maryland preferred for occasional in-person activities. Accountabilities - Own the full recruiting lifecycle for assigned vacancies, from intake and sourcing through screening, interviews, selection, approvals, and hiring. - Develop and execute recruiting strategies for technical and non-technical roles across engineered systems and mission-critical programs. - Translate technical requirements, contract labor categories, security-clearance requirements, and customer staffing needs into focused sourcing and screening plans.

- Build and maintain reusable talent pipelines for cleared, specialized, and difficult-to-source technical professionals. - Source candidates through cleared recruiting networks, professional associations, universities, veteran programs, employee referrals, passive-candidate outreach, and other targeted channels. - Partner with hiring managers, program leaders, engineering teams, and corporate stakeholders to clarify requirements, establish priorities, and maintain consistent recruiting communications. - Evaluate candidates against technical qualifications, education, experience, certifications, contract requirements, and applicable security-clearance criteria. - Coordinate interviews, selection processes, background requirements, and hiring approvals while maintaining a smooth candidate experience. - Support proposal pursuits, workforce ramp-ups, surge staffing initiatives, and accelerated replacement requirements. - Provide leadership with recruiting updates, pipeline health information, staffing risks, and recommended mitigation strategies. - Maintain accurate candidate and requisition information in Workday and other recruiting systems. - Ensure recruiting activities comply with employment laws, equal employment opportunity requirements, organizational policies, contract obligations, and information-handling procedures. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of recruiting experience, or 9+ years of relevant recruiting experience in lieu of a degree. - Experience recruiting within defense, aerospace, intelligence, federal IT, construction and engineering, government consulting, or similarly complex technical environments. - Demonstrated success recruiting technical professionals in high-volume, fast-paced government contracting or consulting settings. - Experience recruiting candidates requiring Secret, Top Secret, TS/SCI, or other sensitive security clearances. - Familiarity with government-contract labor categories, contract-specific qualifications, customer staffing requirements, and personnel ramp-up timelines.
