Position: Independent Contractor – Wheelchair Van Owner-Operator
Industry: Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT)

The Joshua Agency LLC is seeking dependable and professional Wheelchair Van Owner-Operators to provide non-emergency medical transportation services. Contractors will use their own wheelchair-accessible vehicles to safely transport passengers to and from medical appointments, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, treatment centers, and other approved destinations.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, professional, and courteous transportation for wheelchair passengers.
• Pick up and drop off passengers according to scheduled trip assignments.
• Properly secure wheelchairs and passengers using approved wheelchair and occupant restraint systems.
• Assist passengers with safe entry and exit from the vehicle when appropriate.
• Maintain communication with Joshua Agency transportation coordinators regarding pickups, drop-offs, delays, cancellations, and other trip-related issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, reliable, and professional wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
• Follow applicable transportation, safety, privacy, and client-service requirements.
• Complete required trip documentation accurately and on time.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers, healthcare facilities, case managers, and other referral partners.

Contractor Requirements

Applicants should:

• Own or have authorized access to a reliable wheelchair-accessible van .
• Maintain a valid driver's license and appropriate vehicle registration.
• Maintain required commercial automobile insurance and other applicable coverage.
• Be able to pass required background and driving-record screenings.
• Maintain the vehicle in safe operating condition.
• Have appropriate wheelchair securement equipment installed in the vehicle.
• Be dependable, punctual, professional, and comfortable assisting passengers with mobility limitations.
• Have a smartphone and reliable communication for receiving and managing trip assignments.
• Provide requested business, driver, vehicle, insurance, and compliance documentation.

Independent Contractor Opportunity

This is an independent contractor/owner-operator opportunity , not an employee driver position. Owner-operators are responsible for providing and maintaining their own vehicle, insurance, fuel, and other operating expenses in accordance with their contractor agreement.
