We are seeking a Reactor Physics & Neutronics Engineer II to join a growing nuclear engineering organization focused on advanced reactor and energy technologies. This mid-career role offers the opportunity to contribute to reactor design, safety, analysis, and performance evaluations through the application of reactor physics and neutronics principles. The successful candidate will work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to support technical analyses, develop computational models, perform simulations, and contribute to licensing and safety-related activities. Key Responsibilities Perform reactor physics and neutronics calculations to support engineering design, safety analyses, and operational assessments. Develop, execute, maintain, and document computational models using established reactor physics and neutronics methodologies. Conduct neutron transport, reactivity, depletion, shielding, and core performance analyses. Support criticality evaluations, fuel management studies, and reactor performance assessments. Perform sensitivity and uncertainty analyses to evaluate the impact of assumptions, input parameters, and modeling approaches. Support verification, validation, and benchmarking activities using experimental data, test results, and industry-accepted standards. Collaborate with thermal-hydraulics, safety, systems, mechanical, materials, and testing teams on integrated engineering solutions. Provide technical input to safety analyses, licensing documentation, regulatory responses, and design-basis evaluations. Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, analysis packages, model documentation, and supporting records in accordance with quality and configuration management requirements. Participate in technical reviews, problem resolution efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives. Take ownership of assigned technical tasks and contribute to project execution and technical decision-making. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or a related technical discipline. Approximately 5-10 years of relevant experience in reactor physics, neutronics, nuclear analysis, or related engineering fields. Strong understanding of reactor physics fundamentals, including neutron behavior, reactivity, flux distributions, power distributions, depletion, and feedback mechanisms. Experience performing analytical calculations, simulations, and technical evaluations. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present technical findings effectively. Demonstrated problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to technical excellence. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting reactor physics, neutronics, criticality safety, core design, fuel cycle analysis, nuclear safety analysis, advanced reactor development, or research reactor programs. Familiarity with neutron transport, deterministic analysis, criticality, depletion, shielding, and related computational methods. Experience with verification and validation activities, benchmarking studies, and uncertainty quantification. Knowledge of engineering quality assurance processes, configuration management, and technical documentation requirements. Experience working within the nuclear industry, national laboratories, government programs, or other highly regulated engineering environments.
