Details Emergency Department in a 68-bed unit at a Level 1 Trauma, Burn, and STEMI Center, and a Level 2 Stroke Center High-volume urban trauma center seeing 200+ patients per day with high acuity cases; trauma and pediatric experience preferred Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change during surge or other circumstances Day shift, 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts per week) 13-week contract Weekend hours required as determined by facility No call or on-call requirements No floating required EMR: Epic Block scheduling cannot be accommodated Requirements Active MO RN license or compact RN license meeting eligibility for Missouri licensure required at time of consideration Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC required; NIHSS required (candidates may be considered without it but must obtain prior to start) Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, or minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 trauma facility; experience level must be reflected on the resume No employment gaps of 90 or more days within the past 12 months Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted All certifications must be current with no expiration within the first 30 days of the assignment, unless documentation of scheduled renewal is provided Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift; ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs. and pinch up to 15 lbs.; kneeling, crouching, and crawling required minimally Additional Information Responsibilities include direct patient care for all age groups, encompassing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation using the nursing process Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary and other departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment, and only 1 holiday RTO request is allowed per assignment Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after completing 3 consecutive contracts, candidates must either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius American Traveler Job ID #P-726384.
