Geotechnical Engineer

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental (SSE) is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Northwest (NAVFAC Northwest), Planning Design and Construction Directorate, Design Division (PDC4) in Silverdale, WA.

The Geotechnical Engineer will provide office and field technical support for Navy design and construction projects throughout the NAVFAC Northwest Area of Responsibility.

What You'll Do:

• Provide office and field consultation and monitoring for design and construction projects.
• Support projects involving buildings, retaining structures, utility structures, and waterfront facilities, including piers, dry docks, and wharves.
• Review technical reports, designs, RFIs, submittals, and other engineering deliverables.
• Research applicable codes, criteria, policies, and technical requirements and provide engineering recommendations.
• Support construction field activities and technical reviews.
• Coordinate with NAVFAC personnel, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary design teams.

What You Bring:

Required:

• Minimum of six (6) years of Design Management and/or Design experience performing applicable engineering tasks.
• Demonstrated geotechnical engineering experience supporting design and construction projects.
• Experience supporting building, retaining, utility, and/or waterfront structures.
• Knowledge of applicable DoD UFC and industry codes and standards, including IBC and ASCE 7.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to successfully complete required background and security screening.
• Four-year degree from an accredited Engineering college curriculum required.
• Minimum of six (6) years of applicable Design Management and/or Design experience required.

Preferred:

• U.S. Professional Engineer (PE) registration in the applicable engineering discipline is highly desirable.
