The successful candidate will lead the analysis and integration of large-scale multi-omics datasets generated from both animal models and human studies. Job Description Summary The Research Specialist performs bioinformatics research in a multidisciplinary environment investigating the interactions among nutrition, metabolism, immunity, aging, and chronic diseases. This position leads the analysis and integration of large-scale multi-omics datasets generated from animal models and human studies to support biomedical research and data-driven discovery. Responsibilities Analyzes and interprets high-throughput sequencing and omics datasets, including: Develops and maintains bioinformatics pipelines for data processing and quality control. Collaborates with biologists, nutrition scientists, and clinicians to generate biological insights from complex datasets. Prepares figures, reports, manuscripts, and grant applications. Mentors graduate students and other trainees in computational biology approaches. Contributes to the development of innovative analytical methods and research directions. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Eight years of related experience. Demonstrated experience analyzing next-generation sequencing data. Proficiency in R, Python, Linux/Unix, and statistical analysis. Experience with microbiome, transcriptomics, proteomics, or metabolomics datasets. Strong publication record and excellent communication skills. Preferred Education and Experience: Master or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Systems Biology, or a related field. Experience with single-cell RNA-seq analysis. Experience with multi-omics integration and systems biology approaches. Familiarity with cloud computing, high-performance computing clusters, and machine learning methods. Experience with pathway enrichment, network analysis, and visualization tools.
