Job Summary/Company :

Sparks Group in partnership with a leading academic research institution is seeking a Proposal Development Specialist. As the Proposal Development Specialist, you are responsible for developing budgets, documentation and proposal compliance while working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree with some exposure to grants or up to 1 year of proposal experience, who is a problem-solver, eager to learn and thrives in a role with a lot of variety in their day. Responsibilities :

• Guide staff through Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs), establishing submission timelines and responsibility matrices to keep complex grant applications on track.
• Prepare proposal budgets and financial justifications, applying correct institutional F&A and fringe rates while checking for compliance with sponsor limitations.
• Serve as the main point of contact for external institutions to collect sub-award documentation, routing complete packages through internal systems for formal sign-offs.
• Review grant components for strict adherence to formatting, page counts, and sponsor guidelines, while facilitating Just-In-Time (JIT) requests and post-award handoffs.
• Monitor investigator compliance credentials (COI and annual training) and maintain detailed audit-ready records across the proposal lifecycle.

Qualifications/Background Profile :

• Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred
• Up to 1-year Grants, contracts, finance, and budget-related experience in healthcare, academic, research or corporate setting. Related internship experience will be considered.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office (including Excel)

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $70,000.00 to $75,000.00
