Join a dynamic clinical laboratory team in the Southern Gulf Coast region, where your expertise in medical technology will be highly valued. This full-time, on-site role involves operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform quality control procedures and maintain detailed records to uphold laboratory standards.
• Document workload statistics and ensure accurate billing information.
• Receive, log, and process patient specimens, including centrifugation to separate components.
• Conduct special chemistry tests and prepare specimens with specific reagents following established protocols.
• Identify chemical compositions and monitor changes during testing.
• Adhere strictly to standard precautions to maintain a safe work environment.
• Calculate and document test results, promptly notifying care units or physicians of critical values.
• Maintain comprehensive records in logbooks and electronic systems, verifying specimen accuracy for each patient and test.
• Stay informed on new testing methods, products, and instrumentation to continuously improve laboratory services.
• Communicate effectively within the department and with supervisors to manage workload and ensure smooth operations.
• Understand and apply age-specific normal ranges for test results, including pediatric and adult variations, following established emergency protocols for critical values.
• Comply with all regulatory standards including CLIA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
• Adapt to changing workloads and staffing needs across shifts and sections.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the mission and values of the organization.

Education and Experience:

• Certification by ASCP or equivalent medical technologist credential preferred.
• Experience in clinical laboratory settings with proficiency in chemistry and hematology testing.

Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of laboratory regulations and quality control standards.
