OverviewVTG is looking for a Data Engineer in Chantilly, VAWhat will you do?Seeking a Cloud Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize scalable cloud-based data platforms that support analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence initiatives. This role focuses on cloud architecture, data engineering, pipeline development, and modernization efforts while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance data solutions in a mission-driven environment.Do you have what it takes?Required Skills and Qualifications:   3+ years of experience designing cloud-native data platforms in AWS2+ years of experience designing scalable data lake, warehouse, and analytics solutions2+ years of experience with cloud migration and modernization efforts2+ years of experience with the data pipelines, including data acquisition, data prep, and database architectureExperience with data engineering projects supporting data science, AI/ML implementations, and Business Intelligence dashboardsExperience with non-relational and semi-relational databasesExperience creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured dataExperience with team lead functions, creating solutions within a collaborative and cross-functional team environmentTS/SCI clearance with a polygraphBachelor's degree in CS Preferred Skills and Qualifications:   Experience with Pyspark and Spark ecosystems such as Databricks and EMRExperience evaluating data analytic or science technologies and platformsExperience going through an A&A process or leading modificationsExperience with Cloud Architecture and evaluating and selecting cloud analytics architecturesExperience with Data Marts and Data Warehouses and creating, managing, and troubleshooting complex operational data flowsExperience with Source code management and integration such as GitHubExperience with designing, developing, deploying, or testing in Amazon Web Services (AWS)Experience with scripting languages such as Python and SQLExperience with APIs developmentAWS architecture Certifications such as Solution Architect CertificationVTG’s estimated starting pay range is $140,000-$195,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
