Design Engineer II

While often working on more than one project, works from requirements or instructions to design and develop new products or redesign existing components. Capable of performing detailed, independent engineering calculations using advanced engineering software tools. Employ system engineering skills to design/evaluate both mechanical & electrical systems, products, and components. Responsible for design engineering support for assembly and testing of engineering prototypes. Qualifications Required:
Qualification 1: Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Engineering (or foreign equivalent) or similar engineering discipline required.
Qualification 2: Minimum 3 years' experience in a design/development area of Product Engineering, and 1 - 3 years related experience and/or training in finite element analysis applications (ANSYS preferable), and CAE (CREO preferable), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualification 4: Experience in commercial vehicles or the automotive industry is preferred.
Qualification 5: Must have the capability to apply principles of modern algebra, plane or solid geometry and trigonometry to both physical & theoretical design problems. Able to apply and interpret advanced mathematical concepts involving interpolation & curve fitting, calculus, differential equations and statistics.
Qualification 6: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Qualification 7: Ability to create complex 3D solid models and make associated 2D geometry.
Qualification 8: Advanced MS Office products and must have good written, oral and presentation skills. Travel Requirements: Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of occasional travel (15-25%).
