Medical Assistant Location: 1435 S. Alma School Rd., Chandler, AZ 85286 Full-time This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. The role utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide an excellent patient experience. Responsibilities Prepare patients for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms, and other necessary measurements, and documenting chief complaints and pain scores as appropriate. Assist providers with exams and minor in‑office procedures, including taking blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs; act as chaperone as needed and follow universal blood and body fluid precautions and PPE requirements. Coordinate and manage patient care including pre‑certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling of treatments and tests, and communicate test results to patients. Provide clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation, including complete medical records, labs, authorizations, X‑Rays, hospital records, and prior care records for billing purposes. Maintain a clean, functional environment by cleaning and disinfecting equipment, exam rooms, and storage areas, following sterilization procedures, OSHA guidelines, and handling hazardous substances. Order supplies, stock patient care areas, and manage medication ordering tasks such as expired medications, equipment, and recalls. Develop and maintain effective communication mechanisms with all external and internal customers, exemplifying service orientation and teamwork. Complete all necessary onboarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as directed. Work under the direct supervision of providers, interacting with all staff levels, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts while prioritizing data to support patient care decisions. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations. Active Medical Assistant certification (e.g., RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA) with proof of current membership from a recognized organization. BLS certification required. Strong computer skills, including work with medical software. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized manner. Preferred Qualifications Experience with office medical procedures and treatments. Knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
