Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | On-Site | Expected 8–10 call shifts per month, inclusive of 1–2 weekends per month dependent on schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care in both the Cardiac Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) Lab settings
• Assist with and circulate procedures including diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), cardiac stent placements, left and right heart catheterizations, and IABP/Impella insertion
• Support IR lab procedures such as drain and tube placements, biopsies, embolizations, nephrostomy, angiography, and endovascular interventions
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation; manage antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and emergency medications
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as required competencies for all RNs in this setting
• Document accurately using EPIC (required) and adhere to infection prevention and isolation precaution protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN License — must be in hand at time of submission; pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab; IR-only experience does not meet this requirement
• Experience in both the Cath Lab and IR Lab is required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• EPIC proficiency is a hard requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency in Swan-Ganz/pulmonary artery line monitoring, pacemaker/defibrillator lead extraction, and 12-lead EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Experience with central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC and port placement), dialysis graft interventions, and stent graft placement
• Familiarity with upper and lower extremity angiography, SVC/IVC venography, and uterine arterial embolization
• Prior travel nursing experience; this unit is open to first-time travelers
