Job Title: Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary

A litigation paralegal provides comprehensive support to attorneys throughout every stage of legal proceedings by performing legal research, organizing case documentation, and preparing judicial filings.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• Document Drafting: Composing complaints, summonses, and pleadings for proceedings in Florida State Court.
• E-Service of Documents: Electronic filing and service of complaints, summonses, and pleadings.
• Administrative Practice and Procedure: Managing matters before the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, specifically the Division of Florida Condominium, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes.
• Case Management: Coordinating and confirming hearings, depositions, mediations, trials, and meetings. Maintaining comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly calendars and task management systems for multiple attorneys.
• Correspondence Preparation: Drafting professional written communications.
• Discovery Management: Overseeing extensive document management and control processes. Organizing and maintaining litigation files.
• Trial Preparation: Supporting attorneys in preparing for hearings and trial proceedings.
• Communication: Engaging professionally and courteously with court personnel, clients, property managers, and opposing legal counsel.

 

Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or Paralegal certificate.
• Experience: 3-5 years of Civil Litigation experience.
• Organization: Demonstrated capacity for meticulous attention to detail and concurrent management of multiple cases and time-sensitive deliverables.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and WordPerfect applications. Familiarity with legal case management systems.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities for client interactions and legal document preparation.
• Capacity to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Demonstrating strong teamwork, reliability, and a positive demeanor are critical requirements.
• Background with Pacer, Federal, and Appellate court systems is advantageous, though not required.
• Community Association background is advantageous, though not mandatory.
