About the Position

Job Title: RN - Med Surg/Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred License: RN License Certifications: BLS, IV Certification for LVNs, NIH Stroke Certification Preferred (ACLS) Description: CONTRACT RN position for a medical-surgical/telemetry unit. The scheduled shift is 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. No call required. The unit has a total of 30 beds and a staff of 60. Patient ratios are 1:5. Typical equipment includes Welch Allyn vital signs monitors, computers on wheels, Hoyer lifts, PCA pumps, virtual sitters, telepsych, and teleneuro EMR. The unit commonly performs procedures related to strokes, EEGs, gastric decompression, and wound care. Candidates must be team-oriented and self-motivated. The dress code requires navy scrubs, and hoop nose piercings are not acceptable. Recognition for staff is based on patient feedback, and there have been multiple awards for outstanding service. This unit offers a collaborative environment with experienced staff and a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
