DevSecOps Engineer | Richmond, Virginia, United States DevSecOps Engineer - AWS Migration & Automation Location: Richmond, VA (Remote/Onsite Options) | Job Type: C2C [About the Role] Join Apex Systems as a DevSecOps Engineer and play a pivotal part in a large-scale migration from on-premise infrastructure to AWS. You'll partner with cross-functional IT teams to design, build, and secure automated delivery pipelines. [Responsibilities] - Architect, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins - Integrate security scanning, code analysis, and policy gates (OWASP, SAST/DAST, IaC) into delivery workflows - Develop reusable pipeline templates for AWS workloads, open-source tools, and COTS deployments - Automate secrets management and enforce compliance using AWS Secrets Manager, CyberArk, OPA, and policy-as-code frameworks - Containerize legacy middleware on AWS ECS Fargate or Kubernetes, supporting blue/green and canary deployments - Write and maintain Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible code for AWS and multi-cloud environments - Build self-service infrastructure templates and maintain reusable IaC module libraries - Implement monitoring, alerting, and AI-driven anomaly detection to improve uptime and operational resilience - Partner with IT teams to automate account provisioning, infrastructure configuration, and incident remediation [Required Skills and Experience] - Proven track record in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with AWS services - Experience with Git-based workflows, branching, and automated quality gates - Hands-on skills in AWS, Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, and YAML - Expertise in integrating security (SAST/DAST, IaC scans, container security) into DevOps pipelines - In-depth knowledge of secrets management, identity integration, and compliance-driven DevSecOps - Strong background in automating infrastructure provisioning and cloud-native deployments - Familiarity with security frameworks and policy automation [Preferred Skills] - Broad AWS expertise (CloudFront, S3, Cloud Map, DataSync, CloudTrail, AppMesh, SQS, GuardDuty, AWS Inspector, Route 53, IAM, Security Groups, Subnets, WAF, VPC Endpoints) - Experience migrating legacy middleware to containers or AWS ECS/EKS - Knowledge of OPA policy-as-code, COTS application automation, and multi-cloud IaC patterns (AWS, Azure, GCP) - Background with AI-assisted DevOps, observability, or automated remediation - Relevant certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty, Terraform Associate, CKA/CKAD, SRE Practitioner) [Benefits] - Opportunity to lead and influence a mission-critical AWS migration project - Exposure to cutting-edge DevSecOps, AI, and automation technologies - Collaborative, innovative, and supportive work environment - Professional growth through hands-on cloud transformation and security automation - Flexible work arrangements (remote/onsite) [How to Apply] Ready to accelerate your DevSecOps career?
