Anchorage, AK or Remote (Pacific/Mountain time preferred) | Full-Time, Exempt 

$220,000 – $260,000 DOE + executive incentive

Our client is a well-established Alaska healthcare organization that delivers critical patient care to communities across the state, including some of the most remote places in the country. Its work makes a direct, everyday difference for Alaskans and the people who serve them.

Our client is looking for its next Chief Financial Officer: a polished, hands-on financial leader who will be the CEO's trusted partner. This person will explain the numbers clearly to leadership, operators and the Board. The leadership culture is collaborative and communicative, and it invests in developing people at every level. What You'll Do

• Partner with the CEO & Board: Be the CEO's right hand on all things finance. Turn financial performance into clear, practical insights for the CEO, senior leadership team and Board of Directors.

• Build the financial roadmap: Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash planning and long-range financial planning. Teach operational leaders to understand and own their budgets.
\n
• Strengthen the revenue cycle: Lead the financial side of reimbursement, payer mix, denials, collections, A/R and bad debt. Oversee the third-party billing partner and keep leadership up to date on Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer trends.

• Own the books: Hold full Controller-level accountability for financial statements, GAAP, internal controls and audit readiness, including leading the annual audit.
\n
• Make the numbers make sense: Create dashboards, financial reports and presentations that show leaders the organization's financial health at a glance.
\n
• Lead the team: Lead and develop a two-person accounting team, with room to shape how the finance function grows.
\n
• Improve how work gets done: Find ways to modernize systems, automate workflows and strengthen controls across departments.

Qualifications

Required

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field
\n
• 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including financial reporting and accounting operations
\n
• Healthcare finance experience, with a strong grasp of revenue cycle management, reimbursement, collections and bad debt
\n
• Controller-level experience: GL oversight, month-end and year-end close, GAAP, internal controls and external audits
\n
• Track record of leading budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow planning
\n
• Experience presenting financial results and recommendations to executive leadership and/or Boards
\n

Preferred

\n
• CPA or CMA designation
\n
• Experience in EMS, hospital finance, community health or a related healthcare setting
\n
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payer reimbursement
\n
• Experience partnering with health systems, tribal health organizations or Alaska Native communities
\n
• Proven ability to lead well in a remote setting
\n

Additional Details

• Remote-friendly: This role can be fully remote. Candidates in the Pacific Northwest, West Coast or Mountain time zone are preferred, and Anchorage-based candidates are welcome.

• Travel: Monthly trips to Anchorage headquarters (generally 3–4 days), plus quarterly board meetings and occasional visits to locations across Alaska.
\n
• Travel support: Airfare, lodging and meals are covered for required travel, with access to a company vehicle while in Anchorage.
\n
