Assistant Director, Finance and Programs The Jewish Federations of North America’s (JFNA) Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care is hiring an Assistant Director, Finance and Programs. The Center on Aging, Trauma, and Holocaust Survivor Care is a leading voice in the U.S. on person-centered, trauma informed (PCTI) care and support services for Holocaust survivors, older adults with a history of trauma, and their family caregivers. TheAssistant Director,Finance and Programsisresponsible for independently providing financial and programmatic oversight, technical support, and strategic guidance to subgrantees implementing PCTI supportive services.This role will coachsubgranteefinance and programstaff, provide counsel on financial and programmatters,analyze and createbudgets and otherfinancial resources/templates,and ensurefinancial and programcompliance with grant requirements. The Assistant Directoris expected totravelregularlytoleadsite visits of subgrantee funded projects. Key responsibilities include: Overseefederally fundedsubgrantee projects,budgets, andgrants, servingas the primary liaison andadvisor to subgrantee leadership andprogram andfinancial officerson programming, budgets, and compliance. Review, monitor, modify, and approve annual budgets, quarterly financial reports, and program reports of JFNA grant-funded projects to ensure the financial and programmatic health of grant-funded projects. Deliver financialand programtechnicalassistanceand capacity-building related to subgrantees’ programming byidentifyingchallenges, proposing recommendations, and implementing solutions toensurecompliancewith federal standards. Strategize with subgrantee staff and Jewish Federations’staffto align programs and budgets with grant requirements. Independentlysupervise all aspects of grant implementation, including onboarding new grantees, risk assessment, performance improvement, coaching,conductingsite visits,and leading informational group and individualized quarterly monitoring calls. Lead in-person subgrantee site visits tomonitorprogram and financial operations,identifypromising practices and opportunities for improvement,ensure grant compliance,and provide coaching. Represent Jewish Federations in meetings and public forums with partners and other stakeholders. Qualifications include: Fiveyears ofprogressiveexperience analyzing and drafting budgets, grant management, capacity-building,program management, and/or the delivery of social services in the nonprofit, grantmaking, or government sector. Experience working with multi-year budgets; analyzing and monitoring programs, budgets, and expenditures; identifying program and budget challenges and recommending solutions; and grant compliance. Experience developing and streamlining systems,providing technical support to and oversight of programs, and conducting site visits. Demonstrated capacity to timely manage multiple deadlines, competing priorities, and high-level responsibilities with autonomy and maturity. Capable of maintainingconfidentiality while exercising sound judgement and discretion. Interest in aging, trauma, and a commitment to enhancing the lives of Holocaust survivors, older adults with a history of trauma, and family caregivers. Abilityto travel forsubgranteesitevisits.
