Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit
Schedule: Weekend requirement: Minimum 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
Assignment Details: Contract Length: 13 weeks Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Requirements: License: Active RN license required (Missouri or compact license). Experience: 1–2 years in PCU/Med-Surg/Telemetry or equivalent. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred. EMR: Experience with Epic preferred. Unit-specific skills: Telemetry and cardiac monitoring including dysrhythmia interpretation. Knowledge of sepsis management, wound care, renal failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, and care of patients with alcohol withdrawal or suicidal ideation. Ability to manage pre/post cardiac catheterization and AFIB.
Roles & Responsibilities: Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting. Monitor and assess patients' conditions, implementing care plans as necessary. Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and treatment plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Compliance / Notes: RTO (Request Time Off): Max 7 days for offer; all RTO must be finalized at submission. Orientation: 12 hours. Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed before the start date.
