Contract, PRN/Pool, Rotating Shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in the care of emergency room patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and state practice acts.
• Perform patient assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; develop and execute individualized patient plans of care including patient and family instruction.
• Document patient care activities according to established standards of care.
• Apply critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
• Participate in department performance improvement activities, unit practice decisions, and peer review processes.

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• NIHSS certification required.
• TNCC or TNS certification required.
• Education verification required.
• Prior Emergency Room nursing experience required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience providing clinical expertise and guidance across multiple units in support of longitudinal patient care plans.
• Familiarity with shared governance and unit-based professional nursing continuum processes.
