Roles & Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and provide rehabilitative care
• Administer therapeutic procedures including manual techniques, ambulation, exercises, and modalities under the supervision of a Physical Therapist
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising PT to adjust treatments as needed
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers regarding physical disorders
• Document all regulatory and clinical information accurately in the electronic system
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and facility trainings

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of PTA experience required (new grads with Level II experience considered)
• LTC or Rehab experience required
• Active Texas PTA license required
• Must be submitted at posted rate – if higher rate requested, candidate will be redirected

Knowledge & Skills

• Evidence-based practice and clinical interventions
• Manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modality administration
• Patient assessment and progress documentation
• Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team
• Electronic documentation systems
• APTA and state practice acts compliance
