Founded by a U.S. Army veteran, Aalis delivers mission-focused consulting solutions across federal agencies, supporting defense, intelligence, and civilian organizations with a commitment to excellence, integrity, and operational precision.Position Overview:We are actively building a pipeline of highly skilled Senior Acquisition Specialists (SMEs) to support anticipated federal program needs across multiple agencies.The Senior Acquisition Specialist (Subject Matter Expert) provides advanced expertise in federal acquisition strategy, procurement lifecycle management, contract administration, and regulatory compliance. This role supports complex acquisition programs from pre-award planning through contract closeout, ensuring alignment with FAR, agency-specific supplements, and mission requirements.The ideal candidate brings deep experience supporting federal contracting environments, including DoD or civilian agencies, and serves as a trusted advisor to program offices, contracting officers, and senior leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide subject matter expertise across the full federal acquisition lifecycle, including planning, solicitation development, evaluation, award, and post-award administrationAdvise program managers and contracting officers on acquisition strategy development and procurement planningDevelop, review, and refine acquisition documentation including Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and Acquisition PlansEnsure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements (e.g., DFARS), and internal procurement policiesSupport source selection activities, including evaluation criteria development and technical evaluation coordinationConduct market research and industry analysis to inform acquisition strategiesAssist in contract negotiation strategies and risk mitigation planningMonitor contract performance and support contract modifications, renewals, and closeoutsProvide acquisition reporting, briefings, and decision support materials for senior leadershipServe as a liaison between program offices, contracting authorities, and external stakeholdersMentor and provide guidance to junior acquisition staff and analystsRequired QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Acquisition Management, or related field8+ years of experience in federal acquisition, procurement, or contract managementDemonstrated experience supporting DoD or federal civilian agency acquisition programsStrong working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific acquisition policiesExperience developing acquisition documentation (SOWs, PWSs, IGCEs, acquisition strategies)Experience supporting source selection and evaluation processesAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or higher security clearance (if required by contract)Preferred QualificationsDAWIA or FAC-C certification (or equivalent acquisition certification)Master 's degree in a related fieldExperience supporting large-scale, multi-year federal programs or IT acquisition portfoliosFamiliarity with DoD acquisition frameworks and lifecycle management (JCIDS, PPBE, or equivalent)Strong briefing and executive communication skillsExperience working in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder federal environmentsCore CompetenciesFederal acquisition strategy and lifecycle expertiseRegulatory compliance (FAR/DFARS or equivalent)Analytical and critical thinking skillsStakeholder management and advisory capabilityStrong written and verbal communicationAttention to detail in contract documentation and complianceAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentWhy Join Aalis Management Consulting?Opportunity to support high-impact federal missionsWork alongside experienced consultants and acquisition professionalsExposure to diverse federal agencies and acquisition portfoliosGrowth-oriented environment with leadership development opportunitiesVeteran -founded organization committed to mission excellence and integrityAalis Management Consulting is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
