Director of Maintenance

DRG is seeking a Director of Maintenance to join our growing team! The Director of Maintenance is responsible for leading maintenance operations across all markets, ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all restaurant equipment and facilities. This role is critical to operational success, driving repair and maintenance (R&M) strategy, budgeting, and execution in support of restaurant performance . This leader oversees internal maintenance teams and external vendor networks, balancing cost, speed, and quality of service across a distributed portfolio of QSR locations. The Director partners cross-functionally with Operations, Development, and Brand teams to support daily operations, remodels, and new restaurant build s. This is a leadership role with 25–40% travel in the field across marke MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintenance Operations & Str ategyLead end-to-end maintenance operations across all markets, ensuring uptime and performance of restaurant equipment and facil itiesDevelop and manage the annual R&M budget as part of the AOP process; monitor performance and drive adherence throughout the yearEstablish and optimize preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend asset life cycleDrive decision-making on repair vs. replacement strategies using data, cost analysis, and operational i mpact Work Order & Fleet Mana gementOversee work order management systems (e.g., ServiceChannel, Corrigo, or similar), ensuring efficient dispatch, tracking, and reso lutionManage the balance between internal technicians and third-party vendors to optimize cost, response time, and q ualityBuild and manage a scalable fleet strategy, including technician deployment, vendor utilization, and workload prioriti zationMonitor SLAs and performance metrics to ensure timely and consistent service de agementLead national and regional vendor relationships, including sourcing, contract negotiation, and performance man agementEstablish and enforce SLAs, KPIs, and service standards across all vendorsEvaluate vendor performance using dashboards and reporting tools; drive continuous improvement and cost effic nagementPartner with Development and Construction teams to support new builds, remodels, and major capital projectsEnsure all projects meet brand standards, timelines, and budget requ irementsCoordinate with contractors, engineers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful e velopmentLead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance technicians and managers across multipl e regionsDrive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous im provementSupport recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing training in itiativesDeliver technical and procedural training to field teams and operators Data, Reporting & Performance ManagementAnalyze maintenance data and KPIs to identify trends, improve performance, and re duce costsGenerate and present reports to senior leadership on operational performance, risks, and opp ortunitiesUtilize data to drive strategic decisions and continuous process i mprovement Emergency Response & ComplianceEnsure rapid response to critical equipment failures and emergency situationsMaintain compliance with all relevant mechanical, safety, and regulator y standards LEADERSHI P BEHAVIORS: Building Effe ctive Teams - Blends people into teams when needed; creates strong morale and spirit in his/her team; shares wins and successes; fosters open dialogue; lets people finish and be responsible for their work; defines success in terms of the whole team; creates a feeling of belonging in the team.
