Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspection Program Manager

You will serve on Nuclear Weapons Surety (NWS) project integrated product teams and ensure NWS requirements are identified, presented, and delivered across all NWS project organizations.

You will lead the Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspection (NWTI) program and manage all administrative functions, technical processes, coordination of all ashore NWTIs, and collaborate with N00NWA for oversight of all Navy NWTIs.

You will identify NWTI requirements and execute SSP HQ plans to inspect strategic weapons facilities (SWFs) for the purpose of recertification of current NW mission objectives and in the certification of new NW capabilities.

You will correspond with senior leadership and executive staff on all NWTI program areas and collaborate with Department of War, Joint Staff, US Air Force, US Strategic Command, and Defense Threat Reduction Agency in the development of NWTI policy.

You will attend the Navy and Defense Threat Reduction Agency Nuclear Weapons Technical Inspection (NWTI) courses. You will become qualified and certified as an NWTI inspector within two years.

Must be a US Citizen.

Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing technical inspections for the initial certification or recertification of complex nuclear capable units and communicating policies, key evaluation areas, and strategic impacts to senior leadership and executive staff to ensure that rigorous certification standards are met.
