Position Summary

The Customer Data Solutions Lead owns the day-to-day success of assigned customer accounts and a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives that create measurable customer value. The role understands customer operations, goals, pain points, and opportunities; prioritizes work; and serves as the primary connection between customer needs and Synapsum data products.

This position combines customer consulting, business analysis, and hands-on data analysis. The Customer Data Solutions Lead independently analyzes customer data, uses SQL and DAX to investigate and document business needs and data problems, and translates findings into engineering-ready requirements. The role also configures reporting solutions, validates data products before release, and monitors the outcomes of active initiatives. The successful candidate uses AI to improve the quality, consistency, and output of their work

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Own assigned customer accounts by understanding customer operations, goals, pain points, opportunities, and priorities, and support successful customer adoption of our solutions.

• Own a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives that create measurable customer value through financial, operational, and/or customer experience improvements.

• Analyze customer data independently using SQL and DAX to understand and document business needs, data problems, and the root causes of those problems.

• Translate customer needs into engineering-ready requirements and act as a primary conduit between customers and data engineering.

• Monitor delivered solutions and implemented changes to ensure customers achieve intended outcomes and adjust initiatives as needed to improve results.

• Configure and maintain reporting solutions that support customer decision-making and performance monitoring.

• Validate and quality assure reporting, data, and engineering solutions before release.

• Use AI where appropriate to improve the quality of work, efficiency, and consistency.

• Customer consulting and business analysis, especially the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative information and translate it into measurable improvement initiatives that create business value. Logistics experience is a plus.

• Stakeholder management, especially the ability to build productive relationships, define priorities, manage expectations, and align customer needs with internal capabilities.

• Data analysis, including the ability to navigate data model documentation, query data sources, and identify root causes using representative examples and edge cases.

• SQL and/or DAX proficiency sufficient to perform data analysis and interpret existing documentation. A thorough understanding of the following SQL concepts, or equivalent DAX functionality, is required: WHERE, GROUP BY, HAVING, LEFT OUTER JOIN, INNER JOIN, and UNION.

• Written and verbal communication, including the ability to produce concise, specific documentation that can be acted upon by a data analyst or engineer without additional discovery.

• Project management, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate activities and dependencies, track timelines, and proactively communicate when work requires reprioritization.

• Report and dashboard development best practices, especially the ability to connect reporting design decisions to specific customer needs. Power BI experience is a plus.

• Git and version control awareness. Prior experience is a plus; however, the candidate will be expected to use Git regularly and must be willing and able to learn established Git workflows.

• AI utilization and prompting, including demonstrated experience using AI tools to simplify work, improve productivity, and enhance output quality.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Degrees in data analysis, data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related disciplines are preferred.

• Demonstrated experience applying customer consulting, business analysis, and data analysis skills to create customer value.

• Experience using SQL and/or DAX to investigate data, validate findings, and support business or engineering requirements.

• Experience developing reports or dashboards in Power BI or another business intelligence platform.

• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is inside a central heat and air-conditioned office building. The noise level in the work environment is minimal.
