Wellness Attendant

Job SummaryThe Wellness Attendant supports the overall wellness programs and activities within the center, ensuring a positive and engaging environment for senior members. This role involves assisting with daily activities, facilitating group programs, and fostering a sense of community among participants.Job ResponsabilitiesAssist the Wellness Supervisor in organizing and implementing a diverse range of wellness and entertainment programs tailored to the interests and needs of senior members.Help facilitate group activities, exercise classes, cultural events, and recreational programs to promote physical health and social engagement.Build relationships with senior members, actively engaging them in programs and soliciting feedback to enhance their experience.Conduct informal assessments of members’ wellness needs and preferences to provide tailored assistance during activities.Maintain accurate records of participant attendance and individual progress, ensuring data is up to date for reporting and evaluation.Handle and serve snacks and refreshments, ensuring an adequate supply is available while adhering to hygiene and safety standards.Ensure the wellness center is clean, safe, and accessible for seniors with varying levels of mobility and health conditions.Work closely with the Wellness Supervisor and other team members to create a cohesive and supportive environment for all participants.Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices, ensuring the well-being of all members during activities.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in customer service and hospitality or related field.Experience working with seniors or in a wellness center environment is preferred.Knowledge, Skills & ProficiencyCreativity and innovation in program development to cater to diverse senior interests.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to senior care.Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with diverse community members.Basic knowledge of health and safety practices in a wellness setting.Physical Requirements/Working EnviromentAbility to stand and move for extended periods during wellness activities.Comfortable working in an environment that may include exercise equipment, seating areas, and recreational spaces.Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate seniors' schedules.Moderate use of office equipment, including computers and telecommunication devices.Ability to lift and move equipment as needed for wellness programs or events.AHCA RequirementsThis position may require successful completion and maintenance of an AHCA Level 2 background screening in accordance with Florida healthcare regulations.
