IT Support Specialist I

Responsibilities

Primary Focus — Device Deployment

· Desktop and laptop deployment, including imaging, configuration, delivery, and end-user setup

· Execute the day-to-day work of the Windows 10 to Windows 11 migration, including device readiness assessment, upgrade scheduling, in-place upgrades, and post-upgrade support

· Build, test, and deploy standard Windows 11 workstation images using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot

· Provision and enroll devices through Windows Autopilot, including hardware hash registration, deployment profile assignment, and Entra ID join

· Manage workstation hardware lifecycle activities, including new hire setup, scheduled refreshes, decommissioning, and asset record accuracy

· Perform user data and profile migration, including OneDrive and Microsoft 365 configuration on newly deployed devices

· Research, document, and package legacy and specialized business applications, including installation procedures, prerequisites, licensing, and configuration requirements

· Create and maintain deployment runbooks, installation guides, and knowledge base articles for repeatable IT procedures

General End-User Support

· Provide on-site technical support for end-user hardware, software, and peripheral issues, and remote support for users at other regional locations

· Troubleshoot and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems and workstation configurations

· Support Microsoft 365 applications and services, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel

· Manage endpoint configuration, patching, and remote support sessions using NinjaOne RMM

· Support shared and kiosk workstations used by production floor personnel

· Support label printers, thermal printers, and handheld barcode scanners used in manufacturing operations

· Support conference room audio/visual equipment and Microsoft Teams Rooms

· Perform user account support tasks including password resets, multi-factor authentication enrollment, and basic account administration in Active Directory and Entra ID

· Respond to, document, and resolve tickets in SolarWinds Service Desk within established service levels

· Document ticket resolutions in sufficient detail that other technicians can reproduce the fix

· Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior IT staff as appropriate

· Follow established IT policies, procedures, and security best practices

· Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service when supporting end users

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

· Associate degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience

· 2+ years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or desktop support role

· Hands-on experience deploying, imaging, or configuring Windows desktops and laptops

· Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications

· Working knowledge of workstation hardware, printers, and peripherals

· Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and wireless connectivity

· Demonstrated ability to research unfamiliar software independently and document findings clearly

· Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical documentation for both IT staff and end users

· Ability to lift and move computer equipment and to work in an active manufacturing environment

· Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, or similar endpoint management and provisioning platforms

· Experience imaging, deploying, or refreshing Windows devices at scale

· Familiarity with RMM tools such as NinjaOne

· Familiarity with ticketing systems such as SolarWinds Service Desk, and with IT asset management practices

· Exposure to Active Directory and Entra ID user and device management

· Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments

· Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments

· Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and controls, such as CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, or DFARS requirements

· Understanding of proper handling of sensitive or controlled information in a regulated environment

· CompTIA A+ or similar entry-level IT certification

Pay Range: $55,000- $65,000
