Charge Nurse - Behavioral Health - 8 and 12 Hour Rotating Shifts

This position requires the ability to work 8 and 12 hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. There is no floating to other departments.

Job Description

The Charge Nurse coordinates nursing care for patients with behavioral health issues, participates in patient and family education, and administers medications and treatment in a dedicated unit with a nurse to patient ratio based on a team model.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive nursing care for behavioral health patients.
• Participate in the education of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR), specifically Meditech.
• Maintain a collaborative team environment within the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health nursing.
• Valid Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment; travelers without an active license must apply upon acceptance of the offer.
• BLS certification and NCI or other crisis prevention training preferred.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
