RN - PICU

Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

This is a 13-week contract position.

3x12 hour shifts, rotating between day and night, including 2 full weekends a month and holidays as scheduled.

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, specialized care to critically ill children. This role requires dedication to patient-centered care, effective collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the ability to respond to rapidly changing clinical situations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing assessments and individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications, including titration of sedation and vasoactive drips, in adherence to hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, observe and document changes in condition, and respond appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient care outcomes.
• Ensure safe and effective use of medical equipment, including ventilators and monitoring devices.
• Assist with educational support for families regarding patient treatment and care processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of PICU experience required.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications are mandatory.
• Must be comfortable working with both pediatric and adult patients as needed.
