About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 Years in a Hospital Setting License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, IV Certification Required Must-Have: Med-Surg Experience Description: 2 years of experience in a hospital setting is required. Must have an active nursing license. BLS certification is required. IV certification is required. The unit has 36 beds with patient ratios of 1:6, occasionally 1:7 during surge times. Unit staffing includes a secretary for day shift and LNA for both shifts. The type of equipment used includes telemetry. The documentation system is Meditech Expanse. Scheduling requires 3 twelve-hour shifts, every other weekend, and rotating holidays. There is a floating policy to float to the same level of care. Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, hourly safety rounding, and personal connections. Advanced skills needed include IV certification. Procedures performed on the unit include CBI, wound care, drainage management, Foley insertion, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and EKGs as needed. The dress code requires scrubs of any color. Self-scheduling is available, but leadership reserves the right to communicate the need to balance the schedule.
