Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Rotating holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an emergency department setting serving a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including minor walk-in cases through trauma presentations
• Manage a patient assignment of up to 4 patients at a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio within a 12-bed unit including 2 trauma bays, 1 seclusion room, and a 4-room fast track clinic
• Perform lab draws and IV insertions; collaborate with paramedics, ER techs, and nurse externs each shift
• Operate and document within a Meditech EMR system
• Support stabilization of trauma patients prior to air evacuation transfer and facilitate appropriate transfers for pediatric patients
• Manage ventilated patients and coordinate care with on-site Respiratory Therapy available 24/7

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel nursing contract completed
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Meditech EMR
• Experience caring for ventilated patients in an emergency or critical care setting
• Familiarity with trauma stabilization protocols and air evacuation coordination
