Case Manager

The Tone: This is a full-time, on-site role at Morgan & Morgan, P.A. The firm, a leading personal injury law firm with over 6,000 employees, stands as a critical last line of defense for millions of Americans against powerful entities like insurance companies, large corporations, or those responsible for defective goods. Every member of the firm, from attorneys to support staff and operations teams, plays a key role in the unified mission: “For the People.” This Case Manager position is integral to that mission, supporting attorneys in their fight for consumer rights and justice. The TL;DR Role: Full Time Type: Full-time Location: In-person Mission: Assist the attorney in developing settlements, preparing documents, and managing case files from intake to closing. Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, database expertise What You’ll Actually Do Client and Provider Engagement: Engage daily with existing and potential clients via telephone and in person, ordering medical records and communicating with providers during the course of treatment. Documentation and Support: Obtain necessary documents to support injury and liability positions, interacting with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure records and account balances. Negotiation and Settlement: Negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and manage the deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers. Demand Preparation: Prepare comprehensive demands and assemble supporting documentation for submission to carriers. Case Lifecycle Management: Oversee and maintain organized case files from intake through closing, working alongside attorneys and coworkers involved in the management and support of these files. The Must-Haves Background: Possesses a foundational understanding of legal case management, with the ability to work on a varied caseload while remaining highly organized. Experience: Demonstrates proactive interaction with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers. Skills: Required skills include strong negotiating abilities, excellent writing and communication with attention to detail, and extensive computer and database expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, including typing no less than 35 WPM. Candidates must also exhibit the ability to be a team player, follow procedures, multi-task, prioritize, and manage their workload with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment. Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
