Assistant Store Manager

Job Overview The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts, leading the store team members in servicing customers. Bilingual candidates are encouraged. Responsibilities Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers. Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot. Ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak hours. Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching and mentoring team members, and ensuring team members remain current on their individual training. Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members. Maintain telephone answering according to company policy. Process buy online/ship to store, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders promptly and notify customers of shipment arrivals. Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and in accordance with procedure. Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue refunds accurately using the correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise properly in the returns area. Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before product leaves the store. Communicate Zipline messages and delegate merchandising tasks such as Image Maker to team members. Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, obtain approval for deviations, and clock in/out correctly. Perform all store opening, closing, and day-end procedures, verify and secure money/deposits, prepare bank deposits, secure security systems, and lock delivery vehicles. Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage and lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles. Complete all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: Sales Specialist Training, Assistant Manager Certification, and RSS Certification. Desired: Certified Parts Professional Certification, ASE Certification, and fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired). Compensation & Benefits Compensation Pay Range: $12.77 - $18.40 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and premiums, which may be paid per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed, and multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met. Competitive wages and paid time off.
