Senior Income Tax Analyst BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Senior Income Tax Analyst. Responsibilities involve U.S. federal tax compliance, aspects of the income tax provision, tax research and planning projects, and audit activity. The role requires regular contact with accounting, treasury, finance and other personnel across the Company. The individual will be part of a domestic tax team and must exercise initiative and project management skills in connection with tax compliance and planning projects. Responsibilities U.S. federal & state income tax compliance including preparation of returns, research positions, and process improvements. Gather data from internal systems (including SAP) and prepare complex Excel‑based tax models with technical analysis. Prepare/review components of the federal and state income tax provision, including research around tax accounting treatment, uncertain tax positions, use of OTP and compliance with SOX protocols. Present to management on relevant technical developments. Respond to Information Document Requests during federal income tax audits and provide supporting analysis. Maintain ongoing communication with Accounting, Legal and Treasury groups regarding tax matters. Participate in special projects as applicable. Technical Skills Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Tax; Master’s in Taxation or CPA strongly preferred. 3+ years of tax experience with a Big 4 CPA firm and/or large multinational company. Working knowledge of federal and state income tax concepts and compliance issues. Experience analyzing business transactions and determining tax consequences. Understanding of accounting theory to assess tax ramifications; experience with HFM, SAP, OneSource (OTP/OIT), SAP Fixed Asset is a plus. Communication Skills Effectively communicate and engage various levels of the organization verbally and in writing; produce clear documentation. Regular communication with diverse global tax teams and external partners such as Treasury, Legal, Accounting and Controllership. Management of Resources Allocate time and resources efficiently; seek ways to improve individual/team efficiency. Demonstrate effectiveness within a matrix environment. Self‑starter who prioritizes, multitasks, and takes ownership of projects with strong attention to detail. Business & Organization Knowledge Prioritize understanding BJ’s business and the impact of business decisions on tax and vice versa. Change Management Exhibit an assertive personality with a strong bias for action; results‑oriented and tackle tough problems with firm deadlines. In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the following is a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position: $100,000.00 — $120,000.00. Actual salaries will vary based on location, education, experience and qualifications. This is a hybrid role.
