Ask us how we do it at the Y- it's awesome!What is needed for this job:High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous experience a plus, but not required.Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.Authoritative verbal communication skills.Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings.Ability to monitor the property and access areas quickly.Ability to deescalate inappropriate or threatening situations.Prolonged periods sitting or standing.Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.Perform other related duties as assigned.The responsibilities we will trust you with:Create a safe and welcoming environment for members and team members of GPY.Monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to branch leadership and maintains a log of this activity.Deescalates inappropriate or threatening situations.Monitors surveillance cameras throughout the facility.Conducts building walkthroughs with attention to detail to ensure a safe environment inside and outside of the Branch.Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.At the end of operating hours, checks to ensure the property is secure, updates activity log is and ensures that key information is passed along to branch leadership.Addresses reports of suspicious activity on the property.Prepare for threats and emergencies with a plan of action.Escorts unwelcome parties off the premises.Works collaboratively with GPY staff and members to support a positive member experience.Performs other related duties as assigned.What you can expect:Support from an amazing team which includes training you on expectationsOpportunities to learn & grow at the YMCABeing a part of a non-profit organization that works to make the community strongerGreat members to work with every day!After reading this, if you're thinking this is me- we want to meet you!
