East District Director, Youth Development Programs YMCA

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Youth Development Programs is responsible for the training and development of youth development staff, ensuring quality programming standards, and provide direction for the implementation of all program delivery. This position will be responsible for monitoring and reporting results with data against expected performance goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in the development of the annual business plan relating to a school age or teen curriculum and program goals, and assures that the youth development staff have appropriate input and ownership in this process.
• Through personal involvement and utilizing additional youth development and individual branch staff collaborates, integrates, and communicates high quality program objectives and goals of the association to community partners and participates actively in community organizations to program initiatives.
• Works closely with District Directors, Branch personnel, and staff on academic content of our youth development programs.
• Acts as a resource/on-site consultant to program staff ad Directors by conducting observations and providing feedback in regard to cognitive, social/emotional, and behavioral challenges youth participants may have.
• Serves as a lead for curriculum, assessment, and programming design, training, evaluation, and implementation for programs involving school age youth.
• Creates and certifies implementation of all youth development curriculum, which ensures developmentally appropriate practices and addresses multiple aspects of SEL, K-12 standards, and career readiness curriculum.
• Assists in the development, tracking, and reporting of program outcomes relating to youth development and program efficacy.
• Continually reviews and evaluates key performance measures regarding program implementation, classroom management, and other strategic program initiatives involving the appropriate people, develops and executes corrective action plans.
• Through personal involvement and utilizing individual branch staff the Director of Youth Development integrates and communicates the objectives of the program and of the association to the community through building relationships with the partners and schools, public communication and participates actively in community organizations that serve and support youth.
• Coordinates, implements, and leads training for staff in areas of curriculum, classroom management, assessment, entrepreneurial education, financial literacy, career development, youth development and other related topics
• Other duties as assigned.
• All employees of the YMCA of Greater Cleveland are mandated reporters for any signs or suspicion of child abuse and neglect and are responsible for following the child abuse and neglect reporting process including completion of Suspected Child Abuse/Neglect reporting form, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate Supervisor, Branch Executive, Risk Management and Human Resources Department (s).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Bachelor degree is required. Masters preferred.

Experience:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in creating and implementing school age curriculum with successful outcomes.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience of demonstrated leadership in long-term planning designing and implement a successful school age program, summer camp, or BASE program through a quality rating system. (SUTQ, NAEYC, QRIS)

Certification(s) and Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 90 days of hire.

• Ability to lift/move up to 20lbs
• Ability to perform frequent amounts of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending and or instructing others for the duration of their shift.

• Ability to occasionally travel to intrastate non-corporate office locations and colleges and universities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

• Performs work in an office setting with moderate levels of noise, sitting for long periods of time, repetitive motion using computers and phones, with exposure to fluorescent lighting
