Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 2+ years of OR experience and VA or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Rotational weekend call required, with weekday call also possible on a rotational basis
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• AHA BLS required; ACLS and CNOR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for ACLS or BLS
• Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing, with up to two attempts allowed
• Must complete drug testing within 12-14 calendar days prior to start, with willingness to retest if needed
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including gynecology, orthopedics, general surgery, urology, ENT, thoracic, and robotics-assisted procedures
• Experience with equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, Hana Table, Steris, and Da Vinci Xi or Mako Surgical Systems is valued
• Responsibilities include infection control, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (time out) procedures, and emergency management protocols
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online CBLs, including non-billable orientation and modules (approximately 4-5 hours)
• Must reside 100+ miles from the hospital's service area; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on the candidate
