Overview Attorney IV/Workforce Data Attorney — California Civil Rights Department (CRD) JC-524254 - Attorney IV/Workforce Data Attorney Salary: $11,993.00 - $16,096.00 per month. New to state candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or the minimum of the alternate range when applicable. Under the general direction of an Assistant Chief Counsel, the Attorney IV/Workforce Data Attorney supports the Legal Division’s enforcement of employers’ obligations to report annual pay data (Government Code section 12999). Responsibilities include non-filer review, providing technical legal support on pay data reporting, assisting in promulgation of regulations, and leading the Department’s efforts to enforce compliance. The attorney will collaborate with the Legal Division’s Workforce Data Officer to identify systemic civil rights violations related to compensation discrimination and unequal pay, and will work with other Legal Division staff on discovery and workforce data analysis in civil rights enforcement actions. Working Conditions This position is hybrid and may require the selected candidate to report in person up to 4 days a week in accordance with Department policy. Number of Positions: 1 Work Location: Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Facility: Human Resources Work Shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Work Week: Monday - Friday Department Information The California Civil Rights Department (CRD) enforces the state’s civil rights laws, including the Fair Employment and Housing Act, the Unruh Civil Rights Act, the Disabled Persons Act, the Ralph Civil Rights Act, and the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. CRD has jurisdiction over complaints against public and private entities operating in California. The Legal Division provides strategic guidance in complex investigations, litigates at state and federal levels, and offers general counsel support to the Department. CRD’s Legal Division employs approximately seventy-five attorneys and staff across California. Candidates who reside outside of California may be invited to interview; if offered a position, proof of California residence may be required prior to appointment. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating overall qualifications, the following factors will be used to assess candidates: Knowledge of civil rights laws and related litigation methods in employment discrimination and group/class cases. Experience reviewing technical information, including statistical analyses and IT-related documentation. Ability to manage conflict and sensitive issues; use sound judgment; work professionally with opposing counsel; commitment to public service. Willingness to travel for state business; ability to speak a second language or American Sign Language preferred.
