Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems in data centre projects. Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine project requirements. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines. Utilize software tools such as Accubid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Projects to develop and manage estimates. Identify potential risks and opportunities within project scopes and provide recommendations to mitigate risks. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and labor costs to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure alignment with project requirements. Support post-tender activities, including cost analysis and value engineering. Qualifications Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, preferably in data centre or large-scale infrastructure projects. Proficiency in Accubid, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Projects. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and construction methods. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Relevant qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field are highly desirable. Day-to-Day Review project documentation and conduct detailed take-offs for mechanical systems. Develop comprehensive cost estimates and ensure all components are accounted for. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to gather necessary information for accurate pricing. Attend project meetings to discuss estimates, budgets, and timelines. Update and maintain estimating databases and tools to reflect current market conditions. Provide support to project teams during the pre-construction and construction phases.
