About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU

Location

Peoria, IL | Acute Care – Level 3 NICU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to NICU patients ranging from 22 weeks gestation and up, including those with complex diagnoses such as abdominal defects, pre-cardiac repair, PPHN, CDH, and other genetic conditions
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–3 in NICU and 1:3–4 in the Intermediate Care (NIC) area
• Titrate drips per physician orders, including Fentanyl, Morphine, and Precedex
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment including conventional ventilators, oscillator ventilators, JET ventilators, CPAP, Nasal IMV, heated high flow, and tracheostomy
• Participate in self-scheduling including every-other-weekend coverage (Saturday/Sunday for day shift) and holiday coverage as needed
• Float to other units as needed, including PICU, Pediatrics, Nursery, and other areas per facility needs

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Must comply with a drug-free campus policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Candidates with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local rate adjustment

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level 3 or Level 4 NICU experience strongly preferred
• Experience with micro-preemie care preferred
• Familiarity with advanced neonatal respiratory support equipment (oscillator, JET ventilator, etc.)
