This role leverages their engineering background and technical experience in materials, design, and manufacturing methods to assists with early supplier involvement, supplier discovery, cost and technical studies, and proposal support aligned to technology roadmaps and category strategies. Responsibilities grow with proficiency and demonstrate results.Key Responsibilities:Technical Problem Solving: Analyzes and resolves complex material, design, and manufacturing sourcing engineering challenges by applying advanced technical knowledge and innovative solutions.Should Cost: Technical analysis of materials, design, and manufacturing processes to develop estimated cost structures used by Sourcing Managers in negotiations, and NPI CTC development.Project Leadership: Leads small-scale sourcing projects, coordinating resources and managing timelines to ensure successful execution and delivery.Cross Team Collaboration: Partners with internal teams and external subject matter experts to integrate sourcing strategies and optimize engineering processes.Knowledge Sharing: Acts as a resource for colleagues by providing guidance, training, and expertise in advanced sourcing engineering practices.Market Analysis: Evaluates industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and enhance the organization's sourcing strategies and market position.Key Skills:Technical Expertise: Possesses in depth knowledge of primary and related technical domains, enabling effective utilization of diverse technologies.Complex Problem Solving: Demonstrates ability to analyze and resolve intricate technical issues using innovative approaches.Project Leadership: Skilled in leading small-scale projects, managing risks, and ensuring timely completion with limited supervision.Independent Work: Capable of operating autonomously, making informed decisions with minimal guidance.Effective Communication: Excels in conveying difficult or sensitive information clearly and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.Relationship Building: Establishes and maintains strong connections with internal and external subject matter experts for collaborative projects.Analytical Thinking: Evaluates multiple data sources to inform strategic decisions and enhance project outcomes.Consensus Building: Facilitates agreement among team members and stakeholders to achieve unified project goals.Strategic Planning: Integrates best practices and market knowledge to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies.Technical Documentation: Creates comprehensive and precise technical documents to support project implementation and knowledge sharing.Successful candidates typically have: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred and 4+ years of relevant experienceEst.
