This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment and site systems critical to daily operations.Key Responsibilities:Install, maintain, and fix equipment used in waste processing and disposalPerform plumbing work, including repairing leaks, replacing pipes, and working on pumps, drains, and valvesTroubleshoot and fix electrical issues, including motors, wiring, panels, sensors, and site lightingInterpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and piping schematics to ensure accurate installations and repairsPerform routine maintenance to keep equipment running and prevent breakdownsRespond quickly to breakdowns and work with the crew to keep operations running smoothly, while tracking completed workSafely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipmentAssist with upkeep of water and environmental control systemsFollow safety rules and environmental regulations at all timesKeep accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspectionsWork Environment & Physical Effort:Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.Job Requirements:Valid Driver's License with Clean Driving Record. (Required)Must pass criminal background check, drug panel screening and motor vehicle report to be eligible for employment.4+ years of experience as a Millwright or Industrial Maintenance TechnicianStrong hands-on experience with plumbing systems and electrical troubleshootingVocational training in WeldingKnowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, and industrial equipmentFamiliarity with safety standards and environmental regulations in industrial settingsAbility to lift heavy materials and work in outdoor environments year-roundAbility to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.Experience in waste management, landfill operations, or similar heavy industry a plus!Conditions of Employment:Background CheckMVR Check (Clean Driving Record)Drug screenPhysical Capacity examWaste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
