Crisis Center Nurse Practitioner - Per Diem (26-68)

FTE: Irregular part-time, non-exempt. Department/Location: Behavioral Health Crisis Center. Compensation: The final job offer is based on several factors (internal equity, skills, education, experience, and credentials). Additional compensation: 10% or 25% premium based on schedule worked. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others. We are seeking a Crisis Center Nurse Practitioner. As part of a multidisciplinary team-based service, this role provides psychiatric evaluations and short-term medication management for patients who present to the 24-hour Crisis Center, including a Brief Intervention Clinical and Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in consultation with a collaborative Psychiatrist. Network 180’s Behavioral Health Crisis Center is a 24/7 facility that serves adults 18 years and older and includes a walk-in Brief Intervention Clinic and a secure Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The setting provides assessment and unscheduled clinical services designed to prevent or resolve mental health or substance-related crises. The Crisis Center aims to provide these services to individuals whose crisis will typically resolve within a few hours, however may require up to seventy-two (72) hours of treatment; and where services can be voluntary or involuntary. The CSU fills a key gap in the Kent County Crisis Continuum of Care and will provide more efficient, effective, equitable crisis behavioral health care in a setting designed and staffed to provide this type of treatment. The CSU also aims to divert individuals from jail, emergency departments, and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings to an appropriate least restrictive treatment setting whenever it can be achieved safely and successfully. This position is per-diem offering availability across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts based on departmental needs. This position is located in-person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse with a NP Nurse Specialty Certification, and ability to be paneled by all insurance carriers. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (Master’s Degree minimum) with an active, unencumbered license. At least one year of experience as a practicing Registered Nurse providing psychiatry care. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills. Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation for job related use. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities. Ability to adhere to Network180 policies resulting from HIPAA privacy rules regarding individually identifiable health information concerning individuals served or employed by Network180 and credentialing. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued. Job interviews are being conducted in person or via the internet.
