Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Endoscopy Specialty: RN Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current nursing licensure in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Strong background in ERCP, EMR, and EUS Description: The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe. The nurse provides care to these patients through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment, instrumentation, and other health care team members. The nurse is expected to perform duties according to established standards of care and core values. Reports to the assigned unit director. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs assessment and data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on the physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients. Analyzes assessment data, identifies appropriate expected outcomes, formulates a goal-directed plan of care, and identifies patient learning needs. Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner. Performs documentation duties in a timely, accurate, and concise manner. Evaluates the effectiveness of self-care and contributions of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patients toward outcomes. Recognizes emergency patient situations and follows established protocols, remaining calm and informing appropriate persons. Demonstrates a sound knowledge base in the care and decision-making for designated patient populations while following specific policies and procedures. Shows awareness of personal responsibility and accountability for professional practices. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and aims to manage situations to reduce risk. Actively participates in staff development activities for the nursing personnel and other departments as appropriate. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity toward patient rights. Makes decisions and actions on behalf of patients in an ethical manner. Remains aware of current nursing research and implements findings in practice as applicable. Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources of time, personnel, equipment, and supplies. Provides age-appropriate care to all patients. Understands the importance of satisfying customer service needs. Physical Demands: Appreciable physical effort is required; lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving patients of various sizes and capabilities. Some lifting, reaching, and stooping are needed. Required to be on feet for much of the time. Exposure Category: Tasks involving exposure to blood and body fluids or tissues. Unit Description: The team is expanding with a new provider joining to perform advanced GI procedures. We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy RN to support this growing service line and work with both outpatients and inpatients. This position includes taking calls for Endoscopy. Candidates with OR nursing experience who have Endoscopy training or experience are welcome.
