We are looking for a L3 Automation and Cloud Specialist Support Engineer to join our Operational & Technology organization. This role bridges hands-on L3 support and DevOps engineering for the media systems, cloud platforms, automation tools, and workflows that power Versant’s production and content operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings urgency and ownership to complex incidents, and uses automation and sound engineering practices to make systems more reliable and easier to support. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Provide advanced L3 support for mission-critical media, cloud, automation, storage, and enterprise systems; coordinate escalations with L3 engineering, vendors, and platform owners. 

• Troubleshoot complex service, integration, permissions, networking, storage, and performance issues across Linux/Unix, macOS, and Windows environments. 

• Support MAM/PAM and newsroom/media systems, including Avid Interplay, Fonn Mimir, and Avid MediaCentral UX. 

• Build and maintain repeatable automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, software deployment, monitoring, and operational workflows. 

• Develop and troubleshoot scripts, integrations, and infrastructure configurations using Python, YAML, JSON, XML, PHP, Terraform, and Ansible. 

• Partner with cloud, security, storage, networking, application, and production teams to design resilient solutions for media workflows. 

• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, change management, and technical documentation; identify and implement preventive improvements. 

• Create clear runbooks and communicate technical status, risk, impact, and next steps to technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

• Provide onsite weekend and off-hours coverage for planned maintenance and time-sensitive production needs. 

Qualifications 

• 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, platform support, media technology, or advanced technical support. 

• Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of YAML, JSON, XML, and PHP; able to read, troubleshoot, and develop scripts and integrations. 

• Strong systems administration and troubleshooting skills across Linux/Unix, macOS, and Windows. 

• Hands-on automation and configuration-management experience with Terraform, Ansible, Jamf, Munki, and Chocolatey. 

• In-depth knowledge of cloud architecture and solutioning, including AWS, S3 storage classes and lifecycle strategy, cloud/hybrid storage, IAM, networking, observability, Amazon Bedrock, and AWS Elemental MediaConvert. 

• Experience supporting MAM/PAM or media workflow platforms; familiarity with Avid Interplay, Fonn Mimir, and Avid MediaCentral UX strongly preferred. 

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset; able to prioritize competing needs and work calmly during high-impact incidents. 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience in broadcast, streaming, newsroom, post-production, or media supply-chain environments. 

• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, monitoring and alerting platforms, virtualization, containers, and IT service-management processes. 

• Experience modernizing legacy workflows, integrating enterprise platforms, or leading vendor troubleshooting calls during critical events.
