Bus Driver Position

The Baldwin Park Unified School District is recruiting for a Bus Driver position. Under general supervision, the employee will drive a school bus over an assigned route in a safe and efficient manner in the transportation of students, as well as drive trucks or other District vehicles. Selection Process

The selection process tentatively consists of the District application screening and Interviews.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Experience: One (1) year of experience driving a bus or truck of at least 16,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. Successful completion of an accredited course in school bus driver training can be substituted for six months of the experience.

Required Licenses and/or Certificates:

• Possession of a valid and appropriate California Driver's License Class A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements.
• Have an acceptable driving record and qualify for insurability by the District's authorized insurance carrier.
• Possession of a California School Bus Driver Certificate with no restrictions or Automatic Transmission Only restriction.
• Possession of a Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate or equivalent or pass a test given by the California Highway Patrol.

Special Note: Effective January 1, 1995, all employees in these classifications are subject to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) regulations for drug and alcohol testing as required by the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991.

• CPR/First Aid Certification (Standard Red Cross First Aide Certificate or pass a test given by CHP)

• Proof of HS Graduation (High school diploma or GED)
