Strategic Sourcing ManagerThe Strategic Sourcing Manager will lead sourcing strategy, initial supplier setup, supplier management, and project management for raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing-related spend categories supporting PetIQ product innovation. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance, Innovation, and Supply stakeholders to ensure reliable supply, cost competitiveness, timely execution, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards specific to PetIQ's product innovation. A critical function of this role is to manage cross functional sourcing and supply workstreams, establish project plans, drive accountability against milestones, communicate risks and decisions, and help progress innovation projects from concept through successful commercialization. The role will sit on PetIQ's product innovation council and represent Supply in progressing projects to successful commercialization.Roles & Responsibilities:Develop and execute sourcing strategies for raw materials, active ingredients, and packaging categories supporting PetIQ's operationsLead supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management to ensure cost, quality, and supply continuity targets are metManage cross functional project plans for sourcing supply related innovation initiatives, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, owners, risks, and issue resolution.Partner with Manufacturing and Quality teams to qualify new suppliers and ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, EPA or other applicable regulatory requirementsDrive project governance and communication by coordinating stakeholders, facilitating decision-making, tracking progress, and escalating barriers that could impact commercialization timing or supply readiness.Manage RFP/RFQ/RFI processes from scoping through supplier awardIdentify and mitigate supply risks — single-source dependencies, ingredient availability, commodity price volatility, and supplier financial healthPartner with Legal to negotiate supply agreements, quality agreements, and SLAsSupport new product development sourcing, including ingredient/packaging trials and supplier onboardingDrive supplier diversity, sustainability, and business continuity planning initiativesPresent sourcing strategies, market insights, and results to leadershipAct as liaison between PetIQ innovation council and the broader PetIQ supply organization to progress product innovation to commercializationAct on behalf of broader PetIQ supply organization as decision maker for Supply on PetIQ innovation councilPartner closely with Supply to handoff innovation projects to Supply upon/leading up to commercializationMinimum Qualifications:5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, ideally within manufacturing, CPG, food/beverage, pharmaceutical, or animal health industriesProven track record of negotiating supplier contracts and delivering measurable cost savingsExperience sourcing raw materials/ingredients and packaging in a regulated manufacturing environmentStrong analytical skills; comfortable with spend analysis, TCO modeling, and commodity market trackingExperience with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage X3)Excellent negotiation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsDemonstrated project management capability, including experience managing cross-functional timelines, milestones, risks, decisions, and stakeholder communications.Up to 50% travel may be requiredEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (MBA a plus)Preferred Qualifications:CPSM, CPM, or CSCP certificationExperience sourcing within pet food, animal health, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or consumer packaged goods industriesFamiliarity with FDA/USDA/EPA regulatory requirements for consumable/health products/pesticidesExperience with supplier quality agreements and auditsExperience managing global suppliers or international sourcingPhysical Requirements:Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.Company Overview:Our Mission is to become the most trusted ally for pet parents and a leading authority in pet health and wellbeing.
