Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12.0

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts.

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients and the interdisciplinary team during the admission assessment.
• Provide timely patient information for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as appropriate.
• Contribute positively to the unit's functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Assume charge responsibility when requested and prioritize patient needs effectively.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current RN license required.
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required (CIRH ONLY) prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Critical care experience required.
